I go into a coughing fit when I go near these areas?

I've been going into a coughing fit whenever I sit at my desk or open the kitchen cupboard for about 3-4 months now. I was just wondering what might be causing this? Could it be dust? This never happened to me before and I've been sitting at the same desk and opening the same cupboard for many years now.
