I'm a high school sophomore, and this summer my parents and I have decided that I'm going to go to a summer school to get college credit for a class about economics. We also decided that I'm going to a complete immersion spanish language camp for advanced spanish speakers because it is worth college credit. Each of these camps is two weeks long, and after the language camp, I am going directly to another camp as a student leader. I will be leading at this Christian camp for three weeks in order to get volunteer hours for the IB diploma program at our school. Plus it looks good on college applications. And in my time that I'm not at one of these camps (Im at camp for seven total weeks, which only leaves four weeks at home) I am umpiring for money and for job experience BECAUSE IT LOOKS GOOD ON A COLLEGE APPLICATION. I didn't want to do this much stuff during my summer, but colleges come before my happiness in my house. Do you think its bad that I'm doing all of these things, and primarily focusing on college credit, or is this normal for someone who is striving to be great? Also, I have a gf and I'm gonna miss her a lot and I'm afraid that me being gone will ruin our relationship.

What is cheaper to run the hot water through the timer or the immersion switch?

We have a hot water timer which also controls the central heating. The water comes on three times a day and for an hour at each interval which is enough for our household. Recently a friend said it would be cheaper to run the hot water off the immersion switch as once it reaches temperture it cuts out and you can leave it on all day and it will use less energy. Is this true that it woulk be cheaper to run the immersion switch constantly or would it work out better on the wallet if we stuck to our three times a day timed water?

College language classes are designed for non-fluent speakers, even the very hardest ones. I would be much more concerned about your required pre-med classes dragging down your GPA than a handful of Spanish classes for a minor. If you've generally done fairly well in Spanish in high school (As or Bs) you should have no issues getting decent grades in college-level Spanish classes.

How long will it take me to learn Japanese?

I'm starting independent studies of Japanese and I want to know about how long it will take me to get to a decent level of reading, writing, and speaking the language(prefereably daily conversational level). I already know how to count, I know a few kanji, I know almost all Hiragana and Katakana, I know the days of the week, the months in the year, colors, some nouns and verbs, and some basic phrases. I'd say that I can learn pretty fast, because if I use a word or phrase in real life two or three times it's set in my mind. And if this makes a difference, I'm fifteen and my only language is English(but I know a few basic words in French, Spanish, Italian, Vietnamese, and Mandarin Chinese), and all I'm doing to self-teach is watching Japanese movies, listening to Japanese music, using flash cards, and reading a coursebook on Japanese as well as listening to Immersion CDs. So again, about how long would it take me to get a good level of Japanese? Sorry that this was so long. And thank you in advance. :)

My family is so negative all the time!!!!?

I live with my mom, grandma and younger brother. My younger brother is never home and I don't blame him because being at home is hell. We're not the most loving family. We're very cold towards each other (We don't say I love you, spend quality time, and we don't really talk to each other) which doesn't really bother me as much anymore. What does bother me is that my mom and grandma are constantly bickering and complaining. my best friend and I have know each other literally our whole lives. Freshmen year we were so close like always. This year, was horrible. She started hanging out with a lot of people and I was just there. She also has a kind of.new bff and they hang out. She also met a guy and they hang out. It's now summertime and she only hangs out with me and its just us and I feel like its only because she's trying to make it up to me for not hanging out ay school anymore. But it is summer I have not done much yet she always has to upload pictures of her and other friends hanging out. It's like she became soooo outgoing all of a sudden and doesn't care that she's completely left me in the dust. Is this even a best friend??? Overheating issue with xbox 360?

Alright just to clarify I have the original xbox 360 not the slim. Anyways I've tried just about everything fixing this darn thing, I've had it since 07 and about 2 years ago I got the ring of death. Microsoft fixed it for me and replaced the old clamps. A little over a year ago I was having problems with overheating issues again. I've tried cleaning all the dust out of it, I've checked the power that's coming through and everything seems fine. Then I took the clamps off and the compound was completely deteriated, it was hard as plastic so I removed it with rubbing alcohol took about an hour or so then I replaced the compound with the proper amount. Worked fine for about an hour then it started again. Since last week I can only play my games about 15 to 30 minutes before it either freezes or gives me a entirely blue screen. I have an external hard drive connected that I have movies on and watch and I can only watch 1 before it freezes again. Usually it'll freeze right after I exit to the dashboard with movies but games will freeze before I can get 15 minutes of play. Depending on the game. Before I get complains on pirating I just want to ensure all these movies are rips of my own dvds that I prefer watching on the hard drive because it lasts longer than when they run on disc. Any suggestions? Looking for professional answers only, no towel tricks or amateur fixes that actually ruin the xbox rather than fixing the problem.

Why does my electric fan crackle sometimes?

I have a big plastic fan that I use to cool off when my mom refuses to turn on the AC. It plugs in to a wall and emits a lot of air. Sometimes when I use it it starts making crackling sounds and it kind of freaks me out. My mom uses a smaller fan that doesn't do anything like this. Last week i did not go horse riding as i slept cause i came back from camp, but asked my parents to wake me up half an hour before - they did not. My mum promised me that I could go this week and that she would compensate with another riding lesson. This did not happen and so I really thought that I would go this week. My older sister had been on a trip and was supposed to come back at the time of my riding lesson. What to wear to my baptism?

Today is my baptism (yay!) and I'm not sure what to wear. It's not full immersion. The church said I could wear normal clothes and then after I get baptized I switch to my white baptism dress and such. What should I wear for my normal clothes? Someone said it should be symbolic so I should wear dark colors and after I get baptized I'd be wearing white so as to show my transformation whereas someone else said my normal clothes should be all white.
